How To Solve The Biggest Problems With IVF

Childless? Everybody have the dream of enjoying parenthood and building a family. Advancement in technology and thirst for knowledge has been a boon to those who are childless.

In vitro fertilization meaning 'fertilisation in glass,' or can be simply called as ‘test tube baby’. In the IVF process, eggs are removed from the ovaries of the female and sperms are collected from the male counterpart. The collected eggs and sperms are fertilised in the laboratory and are placed in woman’s womb.

What medical conditions can IVF help treat?

Let us discuss the causes, for which IVF treats,
Endometriosis- Endometrial deposits causes obstruction in fallopian tubes and eggs cannot be moved through the tubes during normal ovulation so fertilization will be prevented. Endometriosis causes ovarian cysts that may interfere with normal ovulation, block egg transport, and damage in ovaries resulting in ovarian reserve. For younger patients laparoscopic surgery to remove endometrial lesion can improve fertility before beginning IVF cycle. In aged people proceeding directly to IVF seems better.
Low sperm counts- If the sperm count is very low, abnormally shaped sperms, low mobility IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) may be suggested. The embryologist selects the healthiest sperm to inject into the egg in order to fertilize it.
Problems with ovulation- For patients with extremely poor ovarian reserve IVF with donated eggs from younger women is suggested.
Antibody problems that harm sperm or eggs- This problem can be cured by IVF with ICSI.
The inability of sperm to penetrate or survive in the cervical mucus- Using ICSI by injecting a sperm cell directly into the egg, or sperm donation.
An unexplained fertility problem- Unexplained fertility problems can be cured easily with IVF.
